2020 Enhancements to the Email on Acid Platform

It’s been an unpredictable year for everyone. But through the ups and downs of 2020, the team at Email on Acid has been hard at work improving our email readiness platform.
The first half of the year brought some incredibly useful features for collaboration within the application. Team Management tools give you the ability to manage users, organize campaigns, and grant specific permissions to certain teammates. These capabilities are especially useful as many email teams have transitioned to working remotely.

Here’s a closer look at what our Product team accomplished for you in the second half of 2020.
The use of dark mode is rising in popularity for applications, web browsers, and email clients. Customers asked us for screenshots, and we came through. In July and August, we launched dark mode email previews for Outlook and Apple Mail.
If you’re looking for more information about designing and developing emails for dark mode, check out some of the helpful, eye-opening content we released in October … or as we called it Darktober. That includes our Designing Dark Mode Emails Webinar with insights from experienced email developers.
It’s always interesting to discover unique ways that customers are using the Email on Acid platform for pre-deployment testing. You told us that you wanted the ability to open individual projects in a new tab from the main Projects page, so in September we added that functionality.
This simple enhancement allows email marketers to compare email tests. By opening projects in a separate tab, you can quickly and simultaneously view different campaigns or different tests of the same campaign. For the multi-taskers out there, it also lets you work on several projects and tests at the same time.
We love getting ideas directly from the people who use our solution. This was an excellent one. Cheers, to more flexibility and agility!
In December, we released another highly requested update with the addition of support for Windows 10 OS previews on major web clients. Here’s the full list of new email clients with previews for the Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and Chrome browsers:
We’ll also be officially retiring web client previews for Windows 7 OS on January 8th.
To start seeing Windows 10 screenshots during testing you’ll need to update your default email client profile. Here’s a quick video on how to do that:
After customer surveys tipped us off, we made efforts to speed up our product website. It’s now blazing fast! You’ll find loading of the Projects view in particular has sped up significantly. Every minute counts when you’re a busy email marketer. So, we are happy we could accommodate.
You may have noticed that we also updated the look of the navigation and Home Screen inside the application. We wanted to improve the user experience, giving customers something more modern while highlighting the product’s most important tools and features.
Email on Acid is looking forward to a big year in 2021. In the near future, you can expect to see enhancements that make it easier to identify projects visually and by date/time. Plus, we’re adding some intuitive guidance to the start page experience. As new people on your team begin using Email on Acid, this will help them understand how to use the platform from the first time they log in.
